Sumek is an excellent tour guide, his English is good and his knowledge of Nepal and Tibet's history, including stories surrounding Mount Kailash was exceptional, there was never any rush and his explanations were very informative and he was always happy to be of assistance. Sumek's expertise is in his trekking, abseiling and his way around ropes, carabenas and mountains. Without Sumek's expert hand, our group would not have successfully and safely completed our inner kora of Mount Kailash nor our parikrama of Mount Kailash.
Sumek was also very aware of our safety and would always watch over us to ensure that we were safe and also that we were taking sufficient liquids to keep ourselves healthy and ready for the trekking. Sumek was our lead guide to Everest Base Camp. The expedition was with a group of 16 and most were students aged between 14 and 18. Sumek and his guides were very good with the students, and without them our expedition would not have been possible.
